Will I know who my photographer is? Yes! Unless otherwise stated, David will be photographing your wedding. We have prided ourselves on our integrity and personal service and we will continue in this tradition that has given us our outstanding reputation.
At what time will the photographer arrive at my home? The photographer and assistant will arrive approximately 90 minutes before the start of the ceremony. Please have a copy of the invitation and the Bridal Party’s bouquets at the house at that time. The exception to the aforementioned starting time, will be if the formal pictures of the Bride and Groom will be taken prior to the ceremony, in which case we will start two hours prior to the ceremony.
How do the photographers dress for weddings? Suit and tie is our dress code for both the photographer and the assistants.
How much time should we allow for the formal posed pictures? It takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour for our photographers to take all of the "posed" pictures. This amount of time will allow our photographer to take all of the Family Groups, the Bridal Party Photographs and , of course, the Portraits of the Bride and Groom. Giving our photographer the time he needs to do this job properly means that you will not be bothered during the reception to have these very important photographs taken. Organization is the key to making these photographs run quickly and smoothly. Our usual routine is to do the family pictures at church/temple immediately after the receiving line. The families are only needed for about ten minutes. This allows those members of the family that are not in the wedding party to be at the reception when the guests arrive. The one thing that can cause these photographs to take longer than they should is if we need to search for missing family members. After the family photographs we will go to the location selected for the photographs of the Bridal Party and the Bride and Groom.
Can we request specific photographs? Yes! 99% of what needs to be photographed will be done without any input needed. Immediate family, grandparents and Bridal Party members will all be known to your photographer based on the information sheet given to them by the studio. The people we would like you to inform us of would consist of extended family and friends. In example: godparents, aunts and uncles, school friends, co-workers. These are people that we would not know about unless they were mentioned to us. On the wedding day you will, more than likely, have other things on your mind. You will not be thinking about photographs. Giving us a list of "other people" will assure that no people are missed in photographs that are very important to you.
What about table pictures? We automatically photograph the two head tables (parent tables). If you wish a few others...please give us the table numbers...these will be done at no charge. If you would like all of the tables photographed please inform us in advance of the wedding day. To photograph all of the tables there is a nominal charge of $5.00 per table.
Is it necessary to arrange to feed the photographer and the assistant? It is not an obligation, but it is a courtesy. It is a long day for us and arrangements for a meal are well appreciated. If you wish not to supply meals to the photographer and assistant they will find a time during the reception when there is a lull in the action to leave for about a half hour to grab a quick bite.
Does the photographer stay through the end of the reception? Almost! After the cake has been cut, the bouquet has been thrown and the traditional parent dances have taken place...our photographer's job is done. This is usually about 45 minutes to an hour before the band packs up. If we feel we do not have enough candid photographs at that point or that something very important will be taking place we will stay. We do not charge by the hour, however after ten hours there may be a nominal charge for the photographers time.
How many photographs are usually taken? We normally shoot between 160 and 260 photographs at a wedding. The reason we give it this large variance is because the number of photographs taken is based on the amount of action taking place during the reception, the size of the families, the time allowed for the formal portraits and the length of the ceremony. We do not go with a limit on the number of photographs taken. Everything necessary, wanted and requested will be taken and more.
How long does it take to get our photographs after the wedding? Your proofs will be waiting for you upon your return from your honeymoon. From the time you place your order for the album(s) and other photographs, it take approximately 3 weeks for loose photographs and 3 months to the finished album(s). We do ask that your order be placed within 60 days after your wedding so that we may get your albums and prints to you in a timely fashion.
Am I locked into the items included in my selected package? No! You may, if you wish, add photographs to your album or your parents' albums or order gifts for family and friends.
Do you also offer videography service? Yes! We have selected a local videographer, Ed Peters of “Video Reflections”, to complement the level of still photography that we do. They maintain an office in our studio for your convenience.
Why choose one of our videographers? The benefit of hiring our videographers is, because of the frequency in which our photographers and videographers work together....they will always know where the other will be during the wedding and will not get in each others way. We do, however, work well with any professional videographer...so do not feel obligated to go with one of our guys. Our videographers are not part timers....they do not have other jobs during the week and then videotape weddings on the weekends. Using full time videographers assures the quality of the video product to complement the quality of the still pictures.
Can I re-order after my initial order is placed? Yes! We keep your negatives in a climate controlled environment indefinitely. Should you wish to re-order, even years after the wedding, you can do so quite easily.
If you have any questions that we have forgotten to address in the above information sheet, please feel free to ask...even if the question may seem strange or if it has nothing to do with the photography. We can assist you in other ways by recommending bands, florists, limousine services or by recommending correct scheduling for time breaks between the different parts of your wedding.
